£62,000 Awarded to Lady After Slip in Walkabout Bar

Thanks to the work of Laura Edgeley at Express Solicitors, Carly Denton has been awarded £62,000 in compensation after a slip in Walkabout bar left her with a severe knee injury.

Carly was celebrating her friend’s birthday when they visited Walkabout bar at midnight. She was on the dance floor when all of a sudden she slipped on some liquid. Carly fell putting her full weight on her bent right knee and was instantly in agonising pain.

Carly’s friend called for an ambulance and she was taken on a stretcher to Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Carly’s knee had become very swollen and whilst in A&E they took her for an X-ray. The doctors kept Carly in for 2 nights and they told her she would need keyhole surgery. The doctor described Carly’s injury as one of the worst slipping accidents he had seen in eighteen years and told her that her knee was shattered.

Carly had to have key hole surgery whereby the surgeons found she had a large lump of cartilage which had chipped off her knee. Whilst in theatre the surgeons also removed all of the excess shattered bone and drilled four holes in Carly’s kneecap to drain any fluid.

Carly has had to take antibiotics as well as needing physiotherapy treatment. Carly will continue to experience issues with her knee and when pain occurs she must tell her surgeon who then may have to perform more surgery to relieve the pain.

The accident has had a large impact on Carly’s life and as a result of the negligence of Walkabout bar for not cleaning up the liquid on the dance floor; Carly has had to suffer needlessly.
