The fifth and sixth persons believed to have been killed by a saline contamination at Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport have just been named. Linda McDonagh (60) and John Beeley (73) were poisoned with insulin and a further 21 people are believed to have been affected by the deliberate contamination of drips with insulin.
Extensive Police Investigation Into Stepping Hill Hospital Deaths
Police officers are undertaking an extensive investigation into the deaths with more than 650 people interviewed. They believe the insulin played ‘more than a minimal part’ in the deaths of three of the initial victims but at this stage believe that it is ‘highly likely’ that the latest deaths were caused by natural cases in spite of the contamination.
