On Thursday 1st October 2015, a team of 16 Express volunteers took part in the Manchester Legal walk to raise money for the North West Legal Support Trust.
The North West Legal Support Trust (NWLST) aims to improve access to justice for the most vulnerable in society and they do this by raising funds and distributing them to organisations that support those who need legal help but cannot afford it. The need for free legal advice centres has grown in the past few years, yet funding for the legal advice centres themselves has reduced. The organisations supported by NWLST; prevent families from being made homeless, prevent destitution, help older people gain the support they’re entitled, and help women and children who have been trafficked for domestic servitude and prostitution.
The Manchester Legal walk helps to raise vital funds for the NWLST and the Express Solicitors team alone managed to raise an impressive £1,056!
The 10k course took the Express team around 2 hours to complete and they all enjoyed a well-deserved free drink at the finish line. Well done to all who took part!
