Express Solicitors, has strengthened its board with the appointment of two new Partners and a Finance Manager.
Gerald McHugh and Ian Hazeldine, working across strategy and finance respectively, will help the firm continue its expansion and fulfil its goal of achieving £10m turnover within the next 12 months. In addition to the appointment of Gerald and Ian, Express Solicitors has also recruited John Bush as its new finance manager.
Gerald, who has almost 30 years experience of claimant PI law, will oversee systems, strategy, training, mentoring and coaching, finding areas where there is scope for further improvement and working with employees at all levels across the firm to put systems and training in place to make them happen.
His expansive career includes a year at GLP Law where he headed up the PI department and worked alongside several current partners at Express Solicitors such as managing partner – James Maxey, senior partner -Robin Patey and head of costs – Sharon Denby. Gerald left GLP Law in 1999 to set up his own PI law firm, McHugh Solicitors, in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, which he managed for 15 years until September 2014.
Ian is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of finance experience and previously worked as finance director in several high profile North West law firms such as Ralli and Alexander Harris. At Express Solicitors, Ian will take responsibility for financial management, reporting and strategy.
