Assistant Solicitors, Emma Clarke and Rachel Diskin, have recently joined the committee of Manchester Young Solicitors Group (MYSG). The group is open to all qualified solicitors up to 10 years PQE and runs a variety of events and seminars throughout the year.
Emma Clarke has joined the group committee as the Web and Social Media Director, leaving her responsible for maintaining the website and dealing with online communications and social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. When asked why she chose to get involved in the MYSG committee, Emma answered: “I thought it would be great to get involved as I was part of an equivalent group in Leeds before I moved to Manchester. It’s a good way to network with people from other firms and different professions and also helps to raise the profile of the firm.”
Rachel Diskin has joined the group committee as a Charity Director, sharing the role with one other person. On joining the MYSG committee, Rachel commented: “I wanted to get involved with the MYSG this year and was particularly interested in the charity director position as the main charity that the group are involved with is Forever Manchester. Express Solicitors has been largely involved in fundraising for Forever Manchester over the past year and it’s great to be able to continue to help to fundraise for such a worthy cause. I also feel that being on the MYSG committee provides a fantastic way to network with other lawyers and professionals from different backgrounds.”
The next MYSG social event is taking place this evening at Revolution Parsonage Gardens from 6pm. The cost for a ticket is £5 and includes food and drinks. This social is to help welcome recently qualified members to the group and to celebrate their newly qualified status.
