Laura Ward is an Associate Solicitor in the Employer’s Liability department at Express Solicitors, having joined the firm in June 2015. Laura specialises in claims arising from people who have been injured in their place of work, she also has experience with occupier’s and public liability, package holiday, product liability, and clinical negligence claims.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role at Express, Laura answered: “I like to help people get their lives back on track after they have been injured. It is important for me to ensure I get good results for my clients, which generally involves obtaining the maximum amount of compensation in the minimum amount of time.”

Laura has a practical approach to her work and is good at reading and engaging the opponents in a case. She strives to be open and honest with her clients and is good at understanding their needs following an accident at work.

Laura has successfully won 3 trials at court and her biggest settlement was £250,000 in an MBI untraced road traffic accident where the claimant suffered from a mild brain injury.

Laura gained a Law degree from Manchester University and completed an LPC at De Mont Fort University in Leicester. She has also completed the first stage of higher rights and really enjoys advocacy.

Laura resides in Stockport and she enjoys spending time with her two children and family. They often go on camping holidays together, their favourite place being Dorset, but they have also camped in Wales, Devon and North Yorkshire.

To keep fit Laura enjoys going for long dog walks with her Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Zeus and she regularly visits Lyme Park and other national trust locations. Laura and Zeus have also climbed Snowdon together.

Laura likes going to the cinema and considers herself to be a big movie fan. She explains: “I love all film genres but in particular fantasy – I’m a big fan of the Marvel films, the original Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings but my favourite film ever is Pulp Fiction!”

Laura’s favourite quote comes from Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
