Olivia Bourne is a Litigation Executive in the Road Traffic Accident department, having joined the firm in July 2019.
Olivia says, “The best part about my job is having that initial contact with the client’s and being able to build trust. I enjoy being able to help clients through what might seem a daunting experience, while maintaining a professional and friendly manner”.
Olivia began her career as a Legal Assistant here at Express Solicitors, undertaking a statement project for a variety of cases in the RTA department. She has progressed quickly to become a Litigation Executive, managing her own cases and guiding clients through their claims.
Throughout her working life, to date, Olivia has mainly worked in fast-paced roles that require excellent customer care. Olivia comments that in order to provide such service, you must aim to have the perfect balance of professionalism, empathy and determination.
Beginning her legal journey at Liverpool John Moores University, Olivia obtained a 2:1 in Law and Criminal Justice. Having completed this, Olivia was offered a position at Express Solicitors as a Legal Assistant. Alongside this, Olivia is currently studying the combined LLM and LPC at BPP University in Manchester on a part-time basis and plans to attain a training contract in the future.
Olivia commented “I have been involved with various legal institutions over the past 4 years, including The Law Society, the Internal Mooting Competition at LJMU and the Magistrates Association. I have been offered 4 mini-pupillages; 2 in London and 2 in Manchester, where I spent my time shadowing highly acclaimed legal practitioners. I have also spent my time working in HMP Thorn Cross with a variety of offenders, and partaking in advocacy training events at Gray’s Inn, London with various judges”.
