Rose Oliver

Solicitor Advocate
» Back To Department

Rose Oliver is a Solicitor Advocate working in the Occupier’s and Public Liability department, having joined Express Solicitors initially in the New Client Team in January 2014.

The Occupier’s and Public Liability department is headed up by Partner, Daniel Slade, and claims of this nature often involve quite unusual and complex circumstances. Rose enjoys the constant challenge that this brings, as it allows her to continuously learn new things and expand her skill set.

When asked about how she makes a difference to clients, Rose explained: “I try to exude positivity – it’s amazing the effect it has on others moods and their response to you! Positive things come to positive people, as clichéd as it sounds. Clients love to hear a cheerful voice on the phone, but I understand it’s also essential to be well informed on their case. I believe that you can never underestimate how showing a general interest in clients can help build rapport – that’s where loyalty starts.”

Before joining Express Solicitors, Rose completed a Law degree at Lincoln Law School. Rose also gained a distinction in the Legal Practice Course (LPC) which she completed at the College of Law in Manchester.

Rose lives in Staffordshire close to the Alton Towers theme park, which she often visits on a complimentary ticket! As well as a theme park on her doorstep, Rose also lives close to a National Trust Park in Dimmingsdale. This is where she likes to spend Sunday afternoons going for a long walk before returning home to a roast dinner, and to relax on the sofa in front of the log burner!

Rose is a true country girl at heart and likes to awake early in the morning when it’s peaceful to attend to her many animals. Rose keeps chickens, has two dogs, two horses, and a cat to keep her very busy.

When Rose has time to herself she enjoys reading and is a self-proclaimed geek! She loves sci-fi, all things Tudor, Lord of the Rings, and visiting the National History Museum. Whilst visiting London, Rose also likes to indulge in a day of shopping, dinner at Jamie’s Italian in Convent Garden, and then an evening show at the theatre.

When Rose is out with friends she enjoys visiting country pubs, and comments: “Steak and a cold cider at a country pub, in the sunshine by the river is pure bliss to me!”

Rose’s musical taste involves anything with a Southern twist, her favourite artists being; Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, and Gordon Lightfoot, although she also enjoys listening to the Kings of Leon.

Rose’s favourite quote comes from Thomas Cromwell: “When you are writing laws you are testing words to find their utmost power. Like spells, they have to make things happen in the real world, and like spells, they only work if people believe in them.”
