Yasmin Islam is an Assistant Solicitor in the Road Traffic Accident department at Express Solicitors, having joined the firm in December 2018.

When asked what she likes best about her role, Yasmin commented “It is always satisfying once a settlement is agreed and the Client is awarded a figure of damages. No case or task is ever the same and I am always learning as a Solicitor.”

“I pride myself in providing the best for every client. I take the time to build a rapport with my Clients as I believe that a good relationship will put Clients at ease and give them the assurance that I am here to help them progress their claim.”

Prior to joining Express Solicitors Yasmin completed the LLB in 2006 at Manchester Metropolitan University and then went on to complete the LPC in 2008 whilst working part time working for another firm of solicitors dealing with conveyancing files initially, and then moving to Road Traffic Accident claims. In 2010 Yasmin started working for another firm who specialise in personal injury claims where she completed her training contract whilst in the costs department.

Yasmin qualified as a Solicitor in 2012 and thereafter dealt with Employers & Public Liability cases and Road Traffic Accident cases. For the 3 years prior to moving to Express Solicitors, Yasmin was solely working on Road Traffic Accident claims therefore has lots of relevant experience.

Yasmin is a Mancunian born and bred, she states she loves the city and would hate to move – “I think by living in Manchester you are lucky as the city is quite diverse and cultural. Everybody is nice and welcoming.”

In her spare time Yasmin likes to keep fit by going to the gym when she can and caring for her family, Yasmin explained, “I make time go to the gym twice a week as its important to look after your fitness when trying to achieve the perfect work/life balance.

“I am a busy mum who also loves to do activities with my young family at the weekends but also love nothing better than to wind down with a box set or movie in the evenings. – simple things in life.”

“I am a foody and love to cook and try different cuisines. In the summer I try to grow my own vegetables and herbs so that I can cook them in different cuisines.”

Yasmin’s favourite quote – ‘Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars’

“This has always resonated with me. You should always try to have courage in what you do, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll be somewhere better than where you started.”
