Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society

The Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society is one of the firm’s nominated charities for the year 2014/15.

Express Solicitors were the proud sponsors of the 2015 Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society annual charity golf day.

The golf day took place on Friday 18th September at Heaton Moor Golf club and golfers were lucky to escape with only a short shower throughout their time completing the course.

Express Solicitors donated £2,500 to the Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society so that they could run their annual golf day, and it is one of the charity’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

Express Solicitors kindly donated £750 along with a brand new pool table to the Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society.

Associate Partner, Kathryn Turner, presented the pool table on the night of the charity’s 2014 Christmas party – much to the delight of many keen pool players amongst the group!

On Saturday 6th December, three Express employees braved the cold to volunteer for Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society by collecting donations from fans at turnstiles for the Manchester City V Everton football game.

Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society (Stockport CP Society) received its first donation of £1,500 from Express Solicitors in June 2014.

The charity has decided to spend the donation on motors for the hoists used daily by its service users at Granville House on Parsonage Road, Heaton Moor.

Manager at Stockport CP Society, Quilly Masters said:  “We currently have 9 tracking hoists in our day service buildings. Around 50% of people accessing our service require support using the hoists. We spend a lot of money maintaining and repairing them and have been told new motors are now needed.  We’ve therefore already allocated the funds to buying and fitting new motors, which will benefit over 50 people at Granville House.

“It’s fantastic to have been selected as one of Express Solicitors’ chosen charities and we will ensure the funds we receive over the following year will continue to be spent on providing a first class service for everyone we support.”
