On 2nd October 2014, a group of employees from Express Solicitors took part in the 10k Manchester Legal Walk to raise money for the North West Legal Support Trust.
This is the third year that Express Solicitors have taken part in the Manchester Legal Walk and each year they are joined by the team dog Bobby the Beagle, who this year was uncharacteristically very well behaved. Bobby also had a friend as Assistant Solicitor, Anna Heeley, brought her enormous German shepherd, Woofer.
The human members of team Express included: Ben Gent, Luiza Da Costa, Jack Andrew, Leanne Rowley, Lauren Asquith, Aisha Zahid, Sian Saxby, Wesley Swindell, Anna Heely, Fiona Graham, Michael Green, Joanne Buckley, Jenna Buckley, Raana Afsarpour and Ryan Gledhill.
By taking part in the walk team Express raised an impressive £743.48 for The North West Legal Trust which finances local Law Centres and Citizens Advice Bureaus in the North West. The work they do is essential ensuring individuals’ right to justice. Law Centres and Citizens Advice Bureaus deal with a number of legal issues including immigration, housing, family, debt, gaining care for the elderly, employment all of which are legal issues that touch most of our lives at some point.
The team walked at a very good pace this year, rubbing shoulders with HHJ Platts, Hill Dickinson, Slater Gordon, Stephenson’s, Clyde & Co, Just Costs and many more.
The team remained true to the route until they arrived in the Northern Quarter where they ended up at the Oyster Bar for a pint of ale before making their way back to the finishing point.
