» Back To Department

Michael James is a Trainee Solicitor in the Road Traffic Accident department, having initially joined the firm’s New Client Team in October 2014.

When asked what he enjoys most about his role at Express, Michael explained: “Building rapport with clients is  a key enjoyment for me; I like to ensure that the client feels comfortable with us as a firm and me as an individual. Finally I like the investigative side of my work, such as reviewing records to ensure everything matches up, and investigating previous cases to calculate damages.”

Before joining Express Solicitors, Michael completed a Law degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has also gained extensive experience in the hospitality industry by working in customer services roles at a number of hotels. Michael hopes to transfer the experience he gained working in hospitality to his work at Express by offering an exceptional level of service and care to his clients.

Importance of recording information when involved in a bus accident

Michael is originally from Stoke-on-Trent but moved to Manchester to go to university and has stayed here ever since, although he claims to still be a ‘Stokey at heart’.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys the strategy and challenge that comes with playing chess which he plays regularly.

Michael also likes to spend time in the great outdoors and is a particular fan of paintballing. Michael comments: “I go to play paintball whenever I can and I’m very proud of my ‘soldier of the day’ award I once won!”

Michael’s favourite quote comes from Albert Einstein: “You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”
