Rachel Price is a Partner in the RTA department, having joined Express Solicitors in July 2017 as an Assistant solicitor.

Rachel has a varied case load, she deals with road traffic accidents, complex areas of occupiers and public liability law including sexual assault claims, cosmetic and clinical negligence claims.

Rachel undertakes both fast track and multi-track work with particular interest in Complex Regional Pain cases and significant lower and upper limb fractures and more recently with the cosmetic cases, the significant problems that can be caused by negligently provided botox and dermal fillers.

When asked what Rachel enjoys best about her role, she commented “It’s a cliché, but getting a good result for my clients and bringing some closure to what is often a very traumatic time for a client and their family. I also enjoy the technical and analytic side of law as well as the tactical nature of litigation.”

“As a solicitor you have the ability to make a positive difference to someone’s life by helping them through the ligation process. Pursing a personal injury claim can be difficult and daunting process for a client so it’s essential that each step of the claim is explained along the way and a client’s concerns are listened to. The ability to empathise and see things from the client’s perspective is also crucial to the relationship between a client and solicitor.”

“I don’t shy away from complicated or difficult cases, either in respect of liability or causation and they are often the claims that I find the most enjoyable and the most rewarding. Quite often the ‘devil is in the detail’ and its essential to know the strengths and weakness of a case at the start and as the case evolves.”

Rachel graduated from Aberystwyth University in June 2003 with an LLB. She has also completed her LPC at the College of Law in Chester June 2004. Rachel then qualified as a Solicitor in September 2006.

I qualified a qualified solicitor with more than 25 years experience, representing injured people in personal injury claims. I joined Express Solicitors in 2019 and work in the road traffic accident department.

My area of specialism is disputed road traffic accident claims regardless of the value of the claim.

I enjoy applying the law to help clients achieve their objectives and in the context of personal injury work that means securing the most compensation possible. I have a lot of experience representing injured people including friends, family and colleagues so I understand how an accident and the claims process can be stressful and life changing.

I am able to use that experience to try and ensure my clients understand what is happening with their case and as much as possible, to help them get their life back to where it was before the accident happened.

I have successfully dealt with many hundreds of cases securing compensation from a few thousand pounds to over £200000 both by way of negotiation and at trial.

In my personal life, I am married with one son. My Wife is also a Solicitor specialising in serious injury claims. In our spare time we enjoy visiting local attractions and have recently starting camping.

From there Lucia became a litigation assistant for a partner. In that time she has learnt a variety of skills that make her a very competent fee earner.

I like the variety of work in RTA. Most people would assume you just deal with rear end shunts but actually everyday is different. I genuinely care about the clients and will always try to develop a good rapport with them, this is really important as for many people bringing a claim can be daunting.

I make sure to explain things as clearly as possible and always try to manage a client’s expectations especially in respect of claims against the Motor insurers Bureau (MIB) as MIB claims can take longer than standard RTA.

I specialise in Road Traffic Accidents, taking claims from initial instructions through to settlement/Trial. It is rewarding being able to take a case from ‘cradle to grave’ as you can build a good rapport with each individual client, and really understand their needs. You get a real sense of achievement when you are successful for a client that you have worked with closely since the outset of their claim.

I always try to put myself in my client’s shoes and think about what service I would expect to receive from my lawyer. I think it is important to explain the process clearly so that the client is aware of what will happen in their case and when. Litigation is daunting for a client, so being kept up to date makes the claim easier and more manageable. This way, they can focus on their recovery.

Amir Yasin

Litigation Executive

I graduated from Aston University in 2020 with a first-class degree in LLB Law where I also held the position of course representative.

I work in the road traffic accidents department. While working in the role, I like the fact that you need to be holistic in your thinking and understand the significance of each detail to progress your client’s case. I like looking for background information which bolsters the impact of what might be a more obvious point and using this to my client’s advantage. I have wanted to work in law since the age of 8. To me, the law makes sense. Your abilities as a file handler determine how well you can do for your clients. The better you are the better the result.

I tend to keep this way of thinking to continuously improve my approach. I am empathetic in understanding the difficulties faced by many of our clients as a result of their accident, because of this I take time to develop a rapport from the initial stages to ensure that they are as comfortable as possible. Knowing that I am helping someone during what is perhaps the most difficult time in their life, fills me with great joy and provides a perfect motivation to ensure that my standards are perpetually high.

I have over a decade of experience, including some time spent working for a Defendant firm. This means I can look at cases from both sides and approach them tactically, ensuring I get the best result for my clients and that they proceed as smoothly as possible.

Tayla works on claims arising from vehicle collisions, bus accidents, pedestrian, cycling collisions and hit and run accidents. When asked what she likes best about her role, Tayla commented “I find every day in my role very interesting, every case I get is different. With getting different cases, I need to investigate into each one to ensure what evidence I need to obtain. I want to achieve the most amount of compensation for my clients; therefore, I review files in detail to ensure I have gathered all the liability and medical evidence required to win a case.

I try and speak to my clients in a friendly, yet professional manner to help them feel at ease. I always empathize with the client. Whenever I can tell they are stressed or upset about the situation, I try to make to the conversation lighthearted to ease client’s back into talking about a distressing situation.
