Interview Clinics

Any LLB graduates and upwards looking to improve their CV or interviewing skills are welcome to come and spend some time with our Emerging Talent Team, who will help you with CV reviews, video interviews and interviews.

This is your chance to step ahead of the competition and make the most of our team’s insight and experience.

 

Timetable of events:

The team will offer 30-minute slots on Fridays between 11 am – 12 pm and 2 pm – 3:30 pm.

Application process

Please complete the application form on our careers page. You will be asked to attach your CV and answer why you want to pursue a career in law.

CV Feedback

We will go through your CV and provide a full bespoke review to make sure your CV is in top condition for the next application you want to complete.

We will ensure you:

  • Understand what legal recruiters are looking for and what to avoid
  • How best to sell your skills and experience
  • How to target your applications

Mock Video Interviews

We will send you a video interview to complete ahead of your meeting with us. Once you have completed it, we will review it. Your booked session with us will:

  • Go through the feedback on how you performed
  • Give you pointers on how to improve
  • Give advice on how you can prepare in the future

How to apply for our CV & application clinic

When you apply, you can pick one of the sessions detailed above.

You will need to submit your CV and provide an answer to the following question:

Why did you choose to study law?

The reason why we ask you to do this, is that this is a very standard question that all law firms will ask you during any application process.

Your answer will likely be used in every interview you go to in your early career.

We want you to have a really good think about your answer and we will provide feedback on it whichever session you apply for. So make it authentic and genuine as to why you’re pursuing law as a career.

Frequently asked Questions

Can I attend back-to-back sessions?

No, if you attend a session in November, your next available spot would be in January. This allows everyone to attend a session of their choice.

What if I am too late to apply this month?

We can roll you over to the next month, so you will get a spot then.

What happens if I can't attend on the day?

Please let us know ASAP so we can see if someone else would like the spot. If you let us know in sufficient time to fill the gap, we can consider rolling you over to the next month.

What happens if I cancel at the last minute or don’t attend?

If you don’t let us know in sufficient time, we will not be able to rearrange or book further sessions.

Where will these sessions take place?

All sessions will be completed over MS Teams.
