Daniel Brookes is a Costs Assistant Line Manager and experienced Costs Draftsman within the Costs Department at Express Solicitors, having joined the firm in May 2025.
Daniel has over 15 years’ experience in complex and high-value costs litigation. He specialises in the preparation of Precedent S Bills of Costs and Precedent H Costs Budgets, as well as providing strategic costs management advice. His expertise spans a wide range of matters, including clinical negligence, commercial disputes, catastrophic personal injury claims, multi-party litigation, disease claims, finance-related litigation, Court of Protection matters, Legal Aid work, and Group Litigation Actions. This breadth of experience enables him to deliver a highly adaptable and commercially focused approach, managing both routine and complex cases with confidence and precision.
In addition to his technical expertise, Daniel brings significant leadership experience. During his career, he has held a senior role within a national costs firm, where he was responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing the delivery of costs services to external clients. He has extensive experience in mentoring and developing junior team members, supporting their progression and helping to maintain consistently high standards across the team.
When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Daniel comments:
