Express Chambers operates as an integrated chambers model within a highly-ranked and progressive law firm. The team is instructed by the wider business to provide their specialist advisory and advocacy skills across all the firm’s areas of work. This innovative and collaborative structure ensures continuity of litigation strategy, efficiency, and the highest standard of representation at every stage.

Introduction
I am incredibly proud to lead such a talented and conscientious team, and I am regularly impressed by the quality of the services provided by all our members, no matter their experience or qualification status. The integrated chambers model has been established within the business for some time, but implementing the Express Chambers brand is the natural next step. It allows us to operate with more clarity as to exactly what we do, and to really develop our own identity.
I have worked within the employed Bar for a long time, and it’s always on my radar to take any opportunity I can to champion it as a legitimate career option. I am thrilled to be able to give credence to that passion by actively developing Express Chambers and ensuring it offers a thriving, inclusive, and supportive environment in which our members can progress their careers.

- Barristers
- Pupils
- Advocates
- Clerks
Further information on each role can be found below.
Barristers
We are passionate about working with barristers to develop their career at Express Chambers. Any current vacancies can be found by clicking the link below. However, we are always interested to hear from established practitioners who would like to find out more about what we have to offer. To organise an informal discussion, please contact recruitment@expresssolicitors.co.uk. Any such enquiries will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
Aspiring Barristers
Here at Express Chambers we have many opportunities available for aspiring barristers.
Pupillage
Express Solicitors was the first claimant personal injury firm in the UK to offer pupillage for prospective employed barristers after being granted the status of Authorised Education and Training Organisation (AETO) by the Bar Standards Board (BSB) in 2022.
Express Chambers advertises pupillage vacancies via the Pupillage Gateway, and follows the mandatory recruitment timetable.
Visit our pupillage page to find out more about our training programme, including why our pupils are able to be on their feet within a few weeks of commencing their pupillage.
Advocate Role
Our Advocates (County Court Advocates) are an important aspect of Express Chambers. The role involves a stringent training process, which is not all that dissimilar to the fundamental training of our pupillage programme. Advocates work very closely with our experienced barristers to undertake various interlocutory hearings and small claims hearings, as well as all manner of other written or research-based work. It is an excellent opportunity to gain and develop first-hand advocacy skills. All of our Advocates have gone on to accept offers of pupillage, either within Express Chambers or externally.
The role:
- Opportunity to obtain “on your feet” advocacy experience.
- Experience that will prepare you for pupillage.
- 1-1 supervision from an experienced barrister.
- Development of your drafting and advisory skills
