In January and February, our staff raised over £630 for Beagle Welfare, a charity focused on providing advice and support to responsible owners of beagles as well as re-homing those in their care.

The charity was nominated by Lori Gibbons, a Trainee Solicitor in our Occupiers’ and Public Liability department. She said: “After adopting our beagle, Hazel, from Beagle Welfare, we discovered the incredible work this charity does to protect and rehome these loving dogs.

“Through her, we learned about the challenges many beagles face in the UK; used for testing in laboratories, abandoned by farmers when they can no longer hunt and left without the care they deserve.

“Beagle Welfare gave Hazel a second chance and we want to help give that same chance to others.”

Alongside our usual fundraising methods, we also ran a Top Dog photo competition and invited staff to send in pictures of the dogs along with a donation to enter.

We had 50 submissions and our Charity Committee struggled to pick just three winners.

First place went to Harvey, second place went to Digby and our four-way tie for third place went to Millie, Archie, Honey Boo and Dougal.
