More about Ian Bevan
Ian Bevan is a Partner, having joined Express Solicitors in April 2026, following the acquisition of Aegis Legal Solicitors, a specialist personal injury law firm where he was a Partner and Director for over 20 years, between 2005 – 2026. Ian has been a qualified Solicitor for nearly 30 years, specialising in personal injury all of that time. With so many years of experience in this field, he is committed to achieving justice and maximising compensation for his clients.
Ian works within the firm’s occupier’s liability and public liability team. The type of cases that Ian deals with include all aspects of serious injuries but in particular slipping and tripping cases, animal and product liability claims, all types of foreign accidents, including those on aircraft and cruise ships, as well as brain injury cases and those involving amputation.
His mission is to provide support, rehabilitation and compensation to individuals and their families who have experienced life-changing injuries.
He has in the past sat in a quasi-judicial capacity on local authority licensing and health and safety matters, having been a local Councillor for many years, and active in local, regional and national politics.
In his spare time Ian is a season ticket holder at Accrington Stanley Football Club. He enjoys travelling and spending time with his family. Living on the Pennines, he enjoys hill walking.
Notable cases:
Ian acted for Josh, a paramedic, following an assault in May 2023 when he hit his head after being deliberately knocked over by a doorman outside a bar in Leeds City Centre. Josh was treated on the neurosurgical ward at Leeds General Infirmary for a skull fracture having been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Unfortunately, Josh is now at increased risk of epilepsy due to his brain injury, so his ability to perform his role as a Paramedic and in particular in ambulance driving, has been affected.
Ian acted for Sarah, a riding instructor, following an accident in Cheshire. Sarah was riding a horse out of the riding centre when they were confronted by a Royal Mail van, delivering mail. Her horse was spooked, stumbled and fell, trapping Sarah beneath, causing her to suffer significant crushing injuries to her right leg, foot and ankle including a very severe fracture dislocation of the mid-foot. She had permanent symptoms and dysfunction in her right foot, a risk of arthritis and the need for ankle fusion surgery in the future. Royal Mail strenuously disputed fault for Sarah’s accident, and an equine expert was instructed by Ian to assist the Court with its findings. At the Trial of the case, at Liverpool County Court, the Judge found Royal Mail’s driver to have caused the horse to spook due to the nature of his driving.
What previous clients have to say:
“I honestly couldn’t recommend Ian Bevan and his team enough. I began my personal injury claim after family members encouraged me to do so because of some life-changing circumstances. Going into it, I had no idea what to expect financially, service-wise, or in terms of the overall process. From the very beginning, Ian and the rest of the team were amazing. They were professional, supportive, and genuinely focused on helping me achieve the best possible outcome. Choosing Ian was one of the best decisions I’ve made. What really stood out to me was that it never felt like a “let’s just make money” attitude. I always felt that I was at the centre of everything and that my best interests truly mattered. Overall, I’m extremely grateful for the support and professionalism shown and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a personal injury claim.”
“Thank you, Mr Bevan, for your help and believing in me. It helped me regain my confidence. Your service was excellent.”
“I cannot thank Ian Bevan enough for his time and effort concerning my claim and achieving a successful conclusion when our opponents fought the claim to the bitter end. I think other Solicitors would probably have given up. I would whole heartedly recommend Ian Bevan to others who have sustained life changing injuries and are looking for justice.”
