A Strictly Come Dancing choreographer is seeking compensation for an ankle injury she sustained when she fell off a theatre stage. The injury occurred when the steps, which enabled dancers to get on and off the stage, were moved from their normal place.
Kylie, who taught Strictly judge Anton Du Beke how to tap dance and also helped to coach contestants including TV presenters Jeremy Vine and Susannah Reid and singers Kimberley Walsh and Simon Webbe, said: “It was supposed to be a standard rehearsal run, we were testing out the lighting, stage exits, routines, places, costume changes and sets.”
Emma Mazurkiewicz, a Trainee Solicitor in the Express Solicitors Occupiers’ and Public Liability department said: “Kylie was one of the fittest dancers in the West End. She has worked on the biggest shows and was a Strictly veteran. But her whole career came crashing down when she fell off stage.
“Now she has been forced to give up the glitter ball and her passion for dance and change careers. Theatres need to do more to make sure that everyone on their premises are kept safe.”
