Our South Asian Heritage Month celebration brought colleagues together for an afternoon of culture, entertainment and shared experiences in our Town Hall.

The event celebrated the countries and communities of South Asia, with cultural displays representing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Throughout the afternoon, colleagues enjoyed food, drinks, traditional clothing, jewellery and other items reflecting the region’s rich and varied heritage. There was also the opportunity to visit our henna station and learn more about different South Asian traditions.

Entertainment included Bollywood performances and a live dhol drummer, creating a brilliant atmosphere and encouraging plenty of colleagues to get involved. Thank you to everyone who performed, shared items, prepared food or volunteered their time to help make the celebration possible.

The event was open to everyone across the firm, giving colleagues the opportunity to learn from one another, experience different cultures and celebrate the backgrounds represented within our workforce.

Events like this play an important role in creating a workplace where people feel recognised, respected and able to share their experiences. They also help us build a more inclusive organisation that better understands and supports the diverse clients and communities we serve.

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Network works throughout the year to organise events, raise awareness and encourage open conversations across the firm. South Asian Heritage Month was another opportunity to bring these aims to life and demonstrate our commitment to creating an inclusive working environment.

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed or supported the event. The enthusiasm shown throughout the afternoon reflected the strong sense of community across Express Solicitors.

We look forward to continuing to celebrate the cultures, experiences and perspectives of our people throughout the year.
