Michael Wilcox is a Senior Associate Solicitor at Express Solicitors, specialising in personal injury claims with a particular focus on occupiers’ liability, and slips, trips and falls. He brings over ten years of experience to his role, acting for clients who have suffered injury through the negligence of others and guiding them through what can be a complex and unfamiliar process.

Michael studied at the University of Leeds before completing his legal training at the University of Law in Manchester. He spent the earlier part of his career at Aegis Legal, a specialist personal injury firm, where he played a key role in growing the business, culminating in its acquisition by Express Solicitors.

Throughout his career, Michael has built a reputation for combining technical rigour with genuine care for his clients. He understands that for many people, pursuing a claim follows one of the most difficult periods of their life, and he prides himself on explaining each stage of the process clearly, managing expectations honestly, and fighting hard to secure the compensation his clients deserve.

Michael has handled a broad range of employers’ liability and occupiers’ liability matters, from workplace accidents involving machinery and manual handling to slipping and tripping claims against occupiers who have failed in their duty of care. He is comfortable managing cases through to trial where a fair settlement cannot be reached, and takes a pragmatic, evidence-led approach to building strong claims.

Outside of work, Michael, is a keen follower of football. He also has a strong interest in cooking.

When asked what drives him as a personal injury solicitor, Michael said: “No two clients are the same, and no two claims are the same. What matters most to me is that people feel heard and properly represented from the first phone call to the final outcome. Getting that right is what makes this job worthwhile.”

Having been part of the Aegis Legal team through its growth and eventual acquisition by Express Solicitors, Michael has first-hand experience of what it takes to build a client’s trust, and he brings that same client-first approach into his role as Senior Associate Solicitor at Express. He works closely with clients from their initial instruction through to settlement or trial, ensuring they are kept fully informed at every stage and never left wondering what happens next.

Michael is a strong believer that a good personal injury solicitor combines legal expertise with genuine empathy. He takes the time to understand the personal impact an accident has had on each client, whether that is time off work, ongoing pain, or the practical disruption to everyday life, and factors that understanding into how he builds and presents every case.
