The established advocacy team at Express Solicitors has launched its own brand identity and will now be known as Express Chambers.

Express Chambers is an integrated chambers model comprising employed barristers, pupils, advocates, and clerks, and is an opportunity for barristers to be part of the employed Bar.

Barrister, Partner, and Head of Express Chambers, Nyssa Crorie said: “We hope this name change will better reflect the distinct service my team provides and show that the core operation of the department is closely aligned to that of a traditional barristers’ chambers.

“However, our barristers can swiftly develop their practice with immediate access to high-quality work, while working within a supportive team environment and enjoying the general benefits of employment such as financial security and an excellent work/life balance.

Nyssa joined Express Solicitors as the firm’s first employed barrister in December 2016 and has gone on to develop and lead the specialist advocacy and advisory service to where it is today. The team now boasts 20 members of staff and is still growing.

In 2023, Express Solicitors announced it was to recruit aspiring barristers for the first time, offering four pupillage positions, after it was granted status as an authorised training organisation by the Bar Standards Board.

Pupils at Express Chambers, subject to certain conditions and criteria, can participate in court hearings during the first six months of their training, whereas in other settings, they generally have to wait longer.

The rebrand includes a dedicated Linked in page which will be kept updated with any Express Chambers news and job vacancies.

Applications for pupillage are open now until January 22, via the Pupillage Gateway; all other positions will be advertised on the Express Solicitors careers page.
