Paul’s Story
While on a work trip, Paul stayed at a hotel booked by his employer, where he suffered severe bed bug bites. These caused painful skin irritation and psychological trauma, turning what should have been a routine stay into a deeply distressing experience.
With the help of Michael Hardacre, Partner in our Occupiers’ and Public Liability department, Paul made a claim for compensation for the physical and emotional toll of his ordeal.
Paul was interviewed by BBC One’s Morning Live in February 2026 to show the impact bed bugs can have.
