Insight Events

Express Solicitors runs two insight events during the academic year.

So You Think You Know PI Law:

In November, we will run an insight event that is focused on helping you fully understand what it means to work in personal injury; the cases, the clients and the compassion.

In April, we will run an insight event that is designed to help you improve your application and interviewing skills. You will gain exclusive advice into how to supercharge your legal applications.

These events are open to any student studying an LLB, GDL, LPC, LLM or SQE.

Primary Focus of Insight Event

The event is focused on teaching the facts and elements that constitute a personal injury case and will enhance your practical knowledge of the evidence required to win a PI case. The event will also include talks from our Trainee Principal, Raana Lowery & our Graduate Scheme Programme Lead, Eleanor Turton, on what it takes to make it as a Modern Lawyer.

CV, Application and Interview talk: This event will focus on helping you construct the perfect CV and help you ace your applications and interviews.With top tips and insightful lessons from our Emerging Talent Manager, Luiza Da Costa, with over 20 years’ experience in the legal profession and graduate recruitment. Trainee Solicitor Panel

When you submit your application, you will have the chance to ask our amazing panel a question. Our trainees will answer openly and honestly, so don’t hold back.

At the end of the session, a mix of colleagues from recent graduates through to Senior Associates and Partners will come down to chat with you about their career progression and give you their tips and hints on success. There will be plenty of snacks to discuss your career aspirations over, so please let us know of any dietary requirements ahead of time.

How will attending benefit me?

We cannot guarantee anything, but from our last insight event, over half of those who attended managed to secure a role on our Graduate Scheme or a place on our Vacation Scheme.

How long will it take to hear back after each stage in the recruitment process?

Once the applications close, we will contact you either way to let you know the outcome within one week.

Who will I be networking with?

It will be a mix of Litigation Assistants, Trainee Solicitors, Solicitors and Partners. As well as the Training Team and Emerging Talent Team.

What should I wear?

Treat this like an interview and dress formally; this is your chance to impress the firm in how you conduct yourself.

How do I get to South Court?

The office benefits from excellent transport links, making it easily accessible by both car and public transport. While the on-site car park is reserved for staff, there are plenty of local parking options within walking distance. For those using public transport, buses 43, 103, and 370 stop at the Leestone Road bus stop directly outside the office, and Benchill tram station is just a 15-minute walk away.
