Before joining Express Solicitors, Margaret ran her own law firm, Recovery Assist, for 17 years. Having seen significant changes in legislation and the wider legal market, she recognised that scale was becoming increasingly important for firms looking to remain successful, which led to her move to Express.

Prior to running her own firm, Margaret spent 10 years at Colemans-CTTS, now Simpson Millar, including eight years as a Partner.

Margaret strongly believes that, given how much time people spend at work, it is important to enjoy what they do. She has been fortunate to thoroughly enjoy her career, including the challenges it has presented and the opportunity to work with some fantastic colleagues, many of whom have become lifelong friends.

Margaret has a particular interest in case management and has spent much of her career developing and streamlining processes to make legal work more efficient and cost-effective. This experience proved invaluable while running her own business. She is also interested in artificial intelligence but firmly believes that AI will always need a brain and a pair of hands behind it.

Outside work, Margaret is a keen musical theatre fan and takes her daughter to as many shows as possible. Highlights have included seeing Bette Midler on Broadway, as well as Nicole Scherzinger and Leslie Odom Jr in the West End. She is also a huge Elvis Presley fan and treasures the memories of her visit to Graceland.

Additionally, she has a husband and two sons, and enjoys local walks with her dog, particularly when the walk ends with a drink at a country pub.
