The Lawyer UK 200 list of top law firms has been released and personal injury law firm Express Solicitors has improved on its ranking again, coming in at number 60, up four places from 64 in 2025.
Confirmed turnover just announced for the Manchester-based firm is up to a record £117.2 million for the financial year ending August 2026, marking a substantial rise from last year’s £87.1 million. This includes an £18.5 million turnover from sister company and medical agency Ontime Reports, up from £14.8m last year.
With such an increase in turnover, Express is now ranked seventh by The Lawyer in the top 10 firms by increase in revenue.
This growth is aided by the private equity investment that Express received in November 2025 from Swiss based company Ufenau Capital Partners (UPC), which has allowed the firm to continue its buy-and-build model.
James Maxey, CEO of Express Solicitors, said: “Our new standing in The Lawyer UK 200 is testament to the hard work and dedication from everyone at Express Solicitors.”
“This year so far we have acquired three law firms, Aegis Legal, Smooth Law Ltd, which includes the brand Sorrymate, and Recovery Assist and we expect to have two or three more deals to be completed by the end of the year.
“All of our departments continue to do fantastic work helping injured people as we continue to expand and invest in the business.”
The Lawyer said: “Express Solicitors has evolved from being a regional claimant practice into one of the most aggressive consolidators in the personal injury sector.”
The publication also notes the significance of private equity in helping with the growth of the firm.
Express Solicitors celebrated a new round of promotions earlier this month, with as many as 71 staff members promoted across Express and sister company Ontime Reports.
