Training Programme

At Express Solicitors we have a strong commitment to training. We place a great focus on supporting our trainees and helping them progress throughout every step of their career development.

We strongly believe that every trainee is a prospective Partner, demonstrated by the fact that many of our current Partners completed their training contract here, and this is the same for our Senior Associates.

New Client Team (NCT)

When you first join Express Solicitors as an Enquiries Assistant in the New Client Team (NCT) you will undergo a 3 week intensive training course. Technical training will be provided and soft skills will be taught to you by our on-site training team. Further procedural training will be given in-team, so that you will soon become well acquainted with the systems in place at our firm.

Working in NCT, you will have and develop skills, including managing client expectations, the personal injury process, retaining clients and working in a close knit team.

By working in this department you will also have the chance to gain experience working across the full range of personal injury areas. These include: Road Traffic Accidents, Public Liability, Employers and Occupiers Liability, Defective Products, Clinical Negligence, and Catastrophic Injury.

Litigation Assistant and Litigation Executive.

Graduate recruitment lies at the heart of our growth and continued success.  We are committed to nurturing talent from LLB, GDip, and LPC graduates, and encouraging progression up through the firm.

  • A definite interest in helping injured people and an understanding of our sector
  • Excellent Academics – please specify grades and achievements. We are happy to consider relevant work experience too.
  • Confidence – we are litigators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed with a strong work ethic
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Drive and determination to succeed.

After your initial classroom induction period led by heavy-weight black letter law specialists and successful practitioners of claimant personal injury in their own right – plus a dedicated technical and soft skills training team, you will be working in one of our successful litigation departments – Costs, Road Traffic Accidents, Occupiers and Public Liability, Employers Liability or Clinical Negligence.

Litigation Assistants assist lawyers with a range of tasks such as preparing court documents, reviewing medical evidence, speaking to clients, preparing schedules of loss, and progressing cases to conclusion.

Being a Litigation Executive means handling your own files and our pathway to becoming a Trainee Solicitor – we award training contracts and other pathways from within.  We know this works and together we will make sure your career is rich, rewarding and varied.  You get real satisfaction knowing you fought for your client and won.

How to apply – we recruit in cohorts throughout the year, typically January, March, May and September but this can change.  Please do call us or contact our Recruitment team by email,  We want to hear from you!
