Ali Raza is an Assistant Solicitor in the Employers Liability department at Express Solicitors, having joined the firm in October 2018.

Ali specialises in Employer Liability claims, with additional experience in a range of Personal Injury claims including Public and Occupiers Liability and Road Traffic Accidents. Ali has also undertaken an Immigration and Asylum Law seat on his training contract, where he said he “gained invaluable experience in dealing with asylum appeals to the First and Upper tier tribunals as well as actions brought under the Human Rights Act.”

When asked what he likes best about his role, Ali commented, “It’s humbling and rewarding to be able to help someone access justice and make a difference. I enjoy the varied nature of the work; you learn something new every day.  I enjoy the adversarial nature of litigation and the process of helping clients build their case which will eventually help them right wrongs.”

“I think I am a calm and collected Solicitor, with a ‘straight to the point’ kind of attitude, which helps me break down a case well for clients. This in turn helps them understand where they stand.”

Ali pays attention to detail when dealing with his clients he believes this is his, “Key to winning a case… I persevere with clients to ensure that I fully understand the issues in dispute, so I can provide the best solution and advice in order to progress their case.”

Before Joining Express Solicitors, Ali graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in 2012 with a Law Degree (LLB) and went on to complete his LPC at MMU achieving a distinction.

Prior to joining Express Solicitors, Ali worked as a General Personal Injury Litigator and, then went onto to complete his training contract in September 2016.

Ali currently lives in Whalley Range, Manchester. Ali enjoys going to the gym, playing football when he is “Injury free”, and watching Liverpool play whenever he can.

When out of the office, Ali enjoys travelling, exploring new places and a good hike. His most recent highlight as he mentioned, “backpacking around most of Europe by train and hiking to the base camp of Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas (8th highest peak in the world) in 2017.”

Ali’s favourite quote comes from Ali Ibn Abi Talib, “Be like the Flower that gives Fragrance even to the hand that crushes it”.
