Calum is a Trainee Solicitor in the Occupiers and Public Liability department at Express Solicitors, having initially joined the firm’s New Client Team in July 2016. Calum’s role involves assisting Associate Solicitor, Catherine Lansley on her complex and high value case load.

When asked about his role Calum commented, “I enjoy the challenge which comes with working on higher-value cases and pride myself in communicating with seriously injured individuals in a way which makes them feel at ease with the sometimes daunting litigation process. I deal with each client as an individual and ensure that I understand the personal impact an injury has had on them when working on their file.”

Calum’s achievements up to date include securing a training contract within 18 months of starting with the firm. He has also headed a team in the pro-bono Scheme ‘The Innocence Project’ whilst at university, reviewing files on behalf of prisoners believed to be victims of miscarriages of justice. Calum worked as part of a team which secured the first overturning of a conviction via the Innocence Project in the UK.

Before joining Express Solicitors, Calum completed the LLB at Cardiff University and also gained a Distinction upon completion of the LPC part time at Manchester Metropolitan University.
