Craig Phillips is a Partner at Express Solicitors. He joined the firm in September 2010 initially as a Litigation Assistant and then later a Litigation Executive. Craig completed his training contract with the firm in 2014 and he now forms part of Daniel Slade’s team, handling Occupier’s and Public Liability cases. Here, Craig represents clients who have been involved in a wide range of accidents both at work and in public places.
As well as having a long standing interest in personal injury law, Craig is passionate about maritime law and has a keen interest in cases involving accidents at sea and on boats and ships. He cites being able to bring a claim to a conclusion that is satisfactory for a client as being the single most rewarding aspect of handling personal injury cases.
“After hearing of what some of my clients go through not only during their accident, but in the ensuing months and sometimes even years afterwards I feel a responsibility to get a fair compensation package for them” he says. “Obviously, the moment when a settlement is reached is most pleasing. Its the culmination of a lot of research, patience and negotiation, and if the clients happy then naturally I am too.”
Recent successes include securing almost £7,000 for a minor who was injured at a holiday camp and £5,000 for a lady who was injured by a defective ride at a theme park.
Craig was born in Colchester and hopped over the county border to grow up in Norwich, before then heading north to study Law at Hull University. While completing his LPC, he won the university prize for entrepreneurship and business.
Craig has also been mentioned in the 2017 Legal 500. Legal 500 have classed Craig as a “Recommended Lawyer” saying he has a ‘great grasp of the main issues of the case’
