Assistant Solicitor
» Back To Department

Karl Young first started with Express Solicitors in October 2014 as Litigation Assistant and worked his way up to Assistant Solicitor before leaving us early 2020. Since then, Karl has returned to the Employer’s Liability department in October 2020.

What he says he enjoys most about being a solicitor is probably the litigation, arguing and winning! Karl is passionate about helping injured people obtain compensation after they have sustained an injury following an accident that wasn’t their fault.

‘’Accidents can have a massive far reaching impact on people lives. It is especially difficult if the accident wasn’t your fault, I take great pride in my work in helping people get the maximum compensation, achieve a sense of closure and get their lives back on track following such an accident’’ says Karl.

His particular expertise in fast track cases where the claimant has sustained an injury during their employment. The cases he deals with on a day to day basis range from accidents involving faulty machinery, defective work equipment and or tools to slips and trips at work.

As mentioned, Karl is passionate about his work and clients. Therefore, he prides himself on giving clear succinct advice. The legal process can be complex and confusing at times and he always make sure to take the time to discuss with every client each stage of their claim. Karl mentions that he wants to ensure they are completely up to speed every step of the way and for them to know they are supported throughout the life of their claim.

As for Karl’s achievements to date, he has successfully concluded hundreds of claims for injured people throughout his career. He has a fantastic track record of taking cases to trial and winning. Karl completed his law degree at Sunderland University and then went on to graduate from his LPC at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Karl currently lives in Stockport and enjoys taking his Labrador out to Wales for walks up some of the smaller mountains. Karl is also quite into his cars, an avid gamer and every now and again tries to do a bit of gardening.

In addition to the above, Karl enjoys playing board games with friends, ‘’the bigger and more complex the better’’ he says. What he enjoys is really the social aspect of sitting around a table with some friends, relaxing and trying to figure out a solution to whatever game they’re playing that week. He has over a hundred different board games now so fitting them all in the house is starting to become a bit of a game itself.

Karl’s favourite quote is ‘’Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.’’ – Dr. Napoleon Hill
