Rachel Slade is an Associate Solicitor at Express Solicitors. She runs her own caseload in the Employer’s Liability team headed up by Partner Richard Lowery. Rachel has a wide range of work accident cases, including claims relating to falls from height, accidents caused by machinery and crushing injuries. She also assists with serious injury claims including loss of limbs as well as with claims regarding fatalities from injuries sustained in the work place.
Rachel joined Express Solicitors in November 2011 initially as a part of the firm’s busy New Client Team. Before accepting a position at Express Solicitors, Rachel studied Law at the University of Liverpool. She then completed her Legal Practice Course at The College of Law.

Rachel is an admirer of all creatures great and small. Quite literally, in fact, as she lives with Cole, her beloved 13.5 stone Great Dane and Pete and Sebastien Turtleback, her two tiny turtles.

A history buff with a particular interest in the world wars, Rachel is a natural first pick when it comes to quiz teams on Express Solicitors social nights. She is also fairly knowledgeable regarding classic literature, having devoured the works of Oscar Wilde and Jane Austen long before switching from story books to legal tomes.

Music-wise, Rachel is a classic-indie obsessive, citing Joy Division, The Cure and The Smiths as her favourite bands. Although after establishing herself in the Personal Injury Law industry, she now has to turn a deaf ear to the certain Morrissey lyrics, for example the description of ‘evil legal eagles’ in his 2004 song ‘You Know I Couldn’t Last’.

Instead, her favourite quote comes from her literary hero Oscar Wilde, which Rachel uses for inspiration on her quest to be a true original: ‘Be yourself. Everyone else is taken’.
