A MOTHER FROM GWENT RECEIVES £4,500.00 FOLLOWING A FALL IN A DANGEROUS GARDEN

Miss Watkins lived in a property owned by Tai Calon Community Housing Limited. The garden steps had been in disrepair for the 3 years she lived there. She had complained via telephone and email regarding the dangerous state of the garden steps, and whilst Tai Colon sent their employees out to view the steps, no action was taken during that time.garden

Unsurprisingly, in December 2016 as Miss Watkins was walking down the steps, she tripped twisting her ankle landing on her wrist. She sustained an injury to her right wrist and a twisted ankle and had to seek medical attention. She is a mother of 4 children and had great difficulty with her personal cares, chores around the house and looking after her children. Her partner had to undertake all the additional household chores and taking care of the children. Miss Watkins had difficulties for quite some time after the accident.

Miss Watkins was forced to issue Court proceedings as Tai Colon would not accept responsibility for the accident. However, eventually following the involvement of the Court they agreed to pay her damages of £4,500.00. This will go to compensating Miss Watkins for her injuries and the care she required from her partner.

Miss Watkins states that “she is extremely pleased with the outcome’ and “would certainly recommend Express Solicitors to anyone in the same situation”.
