NHS Complaints Increase Due To Mistakes Being Made

It has been reported that complaints made to the NHS are on the increase due to the failings made by doctors and hospitals in the UK.  Blunders made by hospital staff are often denied or explained poorly leaving patients and relatives frustrated and confused.

It was found that complaints are most common from patients who have had to put up with careless communication, insincere apologies and unclear explanations from the NHS. Yet, not dealing with complaints in the correct manner only makes problems worse; especially for those who are unwell, struggling to look after others, or grieving. In fact, complaints about mistakes that have not been acknowledged properly by the NHS rose by 50% over the past year from 1,014 to 1,523. Over the past few years the NHS has taken drastic cuts to its budget adding further strain to an already struggling system with some experts suggesting has led to the increase in complaints.
