On Friday 24th July 2015, Express Legal Apprentice, Junior Smith, graduated from the Level 3 CILEX Legal Apprenticeship Services scheme.
Junior joined Express Solicitors as a Legal Apprentice in October 2013, where he initially worked in the admin department of the firm’s new client team. In this role, he was responsible for creating physical files for fee earners and ensuring that the files were passed onto the correct department. Junior was then promoted to a role taking enquires in the new client team. Here, he learnt how to communicate effectively with clients and take details of their accident and injuries in order for the case to be assessed by the firm’s partners in a review. Through hard work and by demonstrating a great ability in this role, Junior was promoted again to a role in the firm’s road traffic accident department where he now works as Litigation Executive.
Whilst working full-time and gaining practical experience at Express Solicitors, Junior has also completed three exams and coursework as part of the CILEX apprenticeship scheme which runs in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University.
Junior’s graduation event was held at the university, where he was awarded a certificate to acknowledge his completion of Level 3. The ceremony was followed by a celebration event which included food and refreshments.
Junior has ambitions of qualifying as a Solicitor and plans to further his studies by going to university to complete a law degree next year.
